Robotic DaVinci® Assisted
Laparoscopic Surgery

The da Vinci® Si™ Surgical System is one of the latest technologies in minimally invasive surgery offering patients several potential benefits of robotic-assisted surgeries. These potential benefits may include:

  • Less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Less scarring
  • Fewer complications
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Shorter recovery time
  • Faster return to normal daily activities
  • Better clinical outcomes in many cases
Dr. Mario Delgadillo features the da Vinci® Si™. Which has several unique features designed to provide potential clinical benefits and efficiency in the operating room, some of which translate to patient benefits.
The features of the da Vinci® Si™ include:
  • Enhanced 3D, high-definition vision of operative field with up to 10x magnification
  • Optional dual console allows second surgeon to provide assistance
  • Superior visual clarity of tissue and anatomy
  • Updated and simplified user interface to enhance OR efficiency
  • Ergonomic settings for greater surgeon comfort.
These technological advancements provide surgeons like Dr. Mario Delgadillo with dexterity and control that enable a minimally invasive approach for many complex surgical procedures.

Robotic Surgery Q & A

What is Robotic Surgery?

Robotic surgery, also known as robot-assisted surgery, is a minimally invasive procedure that allows your surgeon to perform complex surgical procedures with more control and precision than is possible with conventional surgery. The surgeon can often perform the surgery using only tiny incisions that allow you to heal more efficiently and in a shorter period.

What Procedures Does Dr. Mario Delgadillo Perform With Robotic Laparoscopic Surgery?

Dr. Mario delgadillo performs a variety of laparoscopic robotic assisted surgeries for different health concerns such as:

What is Involved in Robotic Surgery?

The da Vinci robotic system relies on mechanical arms that contain a camera and small surgical instruments. Using a computer, Dr. Delgadillo controls the arms during the procedure and receives a magnified 3-D image of the treatment area.

While you’re under general anesthesia for your comfort, Dr. Mario Delgadillo begins by making only tiny incisions over the treatment area. Next, the surgeon inserts a slender tube with a camera attached that transmits images to the monitor nearby.

Dr. Mario Delgadillo then controls the computerized mechanical arms, using them to mimic human hand movements.

Robotic surgery may be an option if you need kidney or bladder surgery. It can also be useful for removing cancer cells from sensitive areas of your body, like the organs, blood vessels, and nerves.

What are the Benefits of Robotic Surgery?

Robotic surgery offers several benefits over traditional surgery. Because this type of surgery requires only small incisions, your recovery time is much faster than traditional surgery.

You’re also at less risk for bleeding and infection, and you’ll have minimal scarring. Pain levels during recovery are also less than with traditional surgery.

Am I a Good Candidate for Robotic Surgery?

Dr. Mario Delgadillo reviews your medical history, and depending on the reason for your surgery, may recommend da Vinci robotic surgery as a viable treatment option.

As with any surgery, there are risks associated with anesthesia. You can expect to recover faster because of the small incisions, but your surgeon may still restrict some of your activities while you heal. For instance, you shouldn’t lift heavy objects, perform strenuous exercises, or drive your car for at least a week.
